Professor Jarrod Haar

Professor Jarrod Haar (PhD) is a Professor of Human Resource Management in the Department of Management and has tribal affiliations of Ngati Maniapoto and Ngati Mahuta. Jarrod is a Research Fellow of the Australia & New Zealand Academy of Management, an Associate Fellow of the Human Resource Institute of New Zealand (HRINZ) and won the inaugural HRINZ HR Researcher of the Year Award in 2016. In April 2016, he became the Deputy Director of the NZ Work Research Institute. His research approach spans broadly across a wide range of management topics, but with a strong focus on Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior. My research falls into four main clusters: (1) how employees manage their work, family and life roles such as work-life balance; (2) the role of cultural factors in the workplace, particular for Maori employees; (3) team functioning and its influence on team member wellbeing and job outcomes; and (4) leadership and its influence on followers.
Dr. Helen Delaney

Helen Delaney is a senior lecturer in the Department of Management and International Business at the University of Auckland. Her research and teaching broadly examines the changing nature of work and organisations in contemporary society. In collaboration with colleagues based in Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States, she is currently investigating
how strategic partnerships between firms and unions could improve economic and social outcomes;
how and why psychometric measures are created and used for leadership development; and
how working mothers navigate expectations to 'have it all'. Helen is particularly interested in the invention and implementation of progressive forms of managing and organising.
Her research projects are funded by the Royal Society of New Zealand (Marsden Fast-Start) and Swedish funding agencies. Helen is a member of the editorial collective of the journal ephemera: theory & politics in organization.
